WINSHAPE CAMPS IS COMING TO TOWN WITH ‘THE SUMMER OF A LIFETIME’
WinShape Camps, the summer camp program started by Chick-fil-A founder, S. Truett Cathy, is coming back to town with a one-week day camp experience for children that have completed grades 1st through 9th. Camp will be held August 1-5, 2016 at Limestone College.
Chick-fil-A, Inc. president and CEO, Dan T. Cathy said,

“I love WinShape Camps, and I have seen first-hand the immeasurable impact these programs can have on children and their families. It’s an experience that will stay with them long after they return to their homes, churches, schools and communities.”

WinShape Camps for Communities boasts 21 different camp skills, including: sports, dance, cooking, gymnastics, leaders in training, painting, arts and crafts, wacky science and much more. Campers enjoy 4 full days (7:45 am – 4:55 PM) of worship, team building, skills training, Bible study and more, and then participate in Chick-fil-A Family Fun Day with their entire family (featuring lunch provided by Chick-fil-A) on Friday!

 

“No matter what the campers like to do,” says Day Camps Director, Gabe Norris, “they’ll be amazed at the fun they will have at WinShape Camps for Communities. There really is something for everyone, and we can’t wait to share ‘the summer of a lifetime’ with your community.”

 

ABOUT WINSHAPE CAMPS:

 

  1. Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, Inc., started WinShape Camps in 1985 with the hopes of creating a camp experience that would offer kids fun, adventure, lasting friendships and a closer relationship with God. Since then, thousands of WinShape campers have enjoyed the amazing programs at WinShape Camps.

Today, WinShape Camps offers a variety of camp experiences for boys and girls of all ages, including one-week and two-week overnight camp programs for boys and girls as well as 95 day camps throughout the nation called WinShape Camps for Communities.

WinShape Camps for Boys is located in beautiful Mt. Berry, Georgia, with one-week overnight opportunities in Cleveland, Georgia. WinShape Camps for Girls offers one-week overnight camps in Young Harris and Cohutta Springs, Georgia and a two-week overnight experience in Mt. Berry.

Winshape Camp 2016 – Gaffney, SC will be returning to the campus of Limestone College again for the most amazing week of Summer 2016!  Save the dates for August 1-5, 2016.  Registration will begin in March!

Theme for this summer is “Follow”. Our theme verse is John 8:12 “Then Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

WinShape Reminders
Monday Morning: Check-In and Village Training will be in the main entrance of Limestone College campus every morning from 7:45-8:15am. Monday morning, parents will need to park at the Fullerton Parking Lot and walk their child to Check-In.
* Tuesday through Thursday there will be a morning drive-through drop off at the main entrance loop of Limestone College.
Reminders:
– If you have already completed your registration and medical forms online & paid in full, you can bypass the New Registration & Medical Forms Tents and head straight to the camper name tag boards. They are separated by completed grade level and last names.
– Parents/ guardians will take their Security Card from their camper’s nametag at Check-In. Bring this card with you to Check-Out each day (including Friday). You may text a picture of the card to send to someone else. In fact, it is a good idea for all parents to take a picture of their card in case theirs gets lost, left in the car, etc.
– If you haven’t already, please fill out your Medical Form online by logging into your account at campregistration.winshape.org and click the “Medical Form” button below your camper’s name. You are also welcome to print out and bring in a physical copy of your Medical Form if that is easier.
– Make sure your camper is wearing closed-toed shoes and sunscreen in preparation for the camp day.
– Thanks to our great partners lunch will be provided for campers every day this week. Snacks will also be provided. Please specify at the Medical Tent on Monday if your camper has any food allergies.
– If you need to check your child out early, please come to the Check Point table in the Fullerton Auditorium by 4:15 PM at the latest. Thank you for your cooperation.
– The Camp Store will be open each day at Check-In and Check-Out for camp purchases that make for great memories of the Best Week Ever!We are looking forward to hosting your kids this week!

Winshape Camp Begins On Monday!

Here are some tips to help you and your camper have “The Best Week Ever!”

We understand that the first day of any new experience can be a time of stress and uncertainty. Here are some tips to help alleviate concerns:

  1. ALL SNACKS AND LUNCHES ARE PROVIDED!  The email that went out was one thatgoes out to all camps, but Winshape Camp – Gaffney is awesome and we’ve secured some of the best food in town from local restaurants for our campers and volunteers!
  2. WEAR CLOSED TOED SHOES!  No flip flops or such.  Please know that your camper will be very active through the day and doing a lot of running and walking.
  3. Dress campers in comfortable clothes that they can get dirty and messy in.  Don’t forget to apply sunscreen!
  4. Parents/ guardians will be receiving a Security Card at registration Monday. Bring this card with you to Check-Out each day.
  5. Camp hours are from 7:45 AM-5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:45 AM-1:15 PM on Friday.
  6. The Camp Store will be open each day at Check-In and Check-Out for camp purchases that make for great memories of the Best Week Ever!
